Mrs. Dilmer...

In Stave Four, Scrooge was finally visited by the last of the three ghost. Its name is "The ghost from christmas yet to come." It wore a black robe, was very tall, and had a skeleton hand that he used to point. You couldn't see the Phantom's face, it was being covered by a hood. Scrooge declared that out of all the ghost he has seen, it was the most scariest one. Scrooge told the phantom to go ahead and teach him his lesson, this is because he wants to change now. The phantom doesn't speak so scrooge mostly speaks for him, the phantom just points. The phantom took Scrooge to a place where two business men were talking, they were talking about a man that had recently died. They kept on saying about how no one showed up and that they would only go if they were offering free food. Then, the phantom took scrooge to a different part of town that was unsanitary and was very nasty. They saw two people, a man named Joe and a woman named Mrs. Dilmer. They both sell stuff in the blackmarket, Mrs. Dilmer steals, then she sells what she steals to Joe. Mrs. Diler and Joe begin to laugh about a man that died, Mrs. Dilmer reveals that she stole from the dead man's house and even his clothing.

I personally think that it's pretty disturbing of Mrs. Dilmer to go so far into robbing a dead man's things. Especially when she robbed his bed curtains with him still laying dead on his bed. But, it's that not as bad as when she took of the dead man's clothes just to sell them.  She left the dead man's body lying naked on his own bed, and was just robbed from some women that is just going to sell his belonging in the black market to random people. Including, that when Joe touched the man's pajamas he joked about the man dying from a disease, and they both just laughed. Overall, its pretty disturbing of Mrs. Dilmer of stealing from a dead man. What do you think?

  1. Good job on your first, paragraph, and I liked your opinions on the second. When you said that it is disturbing that Mrs. Gilmer stole the man to bare, it was disturbing, also how could you be that bad of a person, that is a little over kill in my opinion. I honestly that Mrs. Dilmer could do that, she didn't show him the least of respect to him, at least when he is dead you should give him some respect to at least tell people that he passed away. When the y joked about him dead that, made me angry, because I think that the worst thing that you could do is to mock the body of a dead person.

  2. I as well think it was pretty disturbing when Mrs. Dilmer had explained how she had stolen things off of Scrooge. Though they have to do what they gotta do to make money, since they're in poverty. They will take any opportunity to steal from anyone, whether it be from a dead body, because if they don't make money, then their lives are on the stake (meaning they then won't have money to afford food and things that they need). It's a way of life, if I was put in that situation I probably would do the same if I had the chance, since my life counted on me getting valuable things to sell, but I would not make jokes about Scrooge, and for sure tell a person that I had knocked on the person's (Scrooge's) house, but no one would answer, and that something's off. Instead of telling them that Scrooge is dead, they then would think how I would know that, and the only way would've been by me going into his house, but since he was dead, I'd forced my way inside, making the person suspicious of me for possible stealing.

  3. You have a very good summary and you got down all of the details of each scene. When you say that it was disturbing that of Mrs. Dilber to rob a deadman, even when his corpse is still right there, is something I agree with. It's particularly disturbing because the corpse is still right there, which probably had built up a smell. Also, it's disgusting that Joe is okay with touching all of his stuff. The man probably had an illness as well!

  4. You had a good summary and description of what the spirit looks like. I, along with a lot of other people I would hope, think that what Mrs.Dilber did was despicable. Even though Scrooge was a terrible human and in no ways was ever very kind to anyone, not even he deserves this type of disrespect. The way they also joke about the man dying from a disease and are over all lightly talking about the situation and not being serious at all about it must really hurt scrooge and will push him to be a better person.

  5. You have a very detalied summary and did a very good job summarizing what has happened in Stave 4 so far. YOu also did a good job describing Joe and Mrs. Dilmer and their relationship. I also find it disturbing that Mrs. Diler would go as far as to take Scrooge's pajamas off of his dead body just for money. However she my be in really bad poverty and this may be the only way for her to get money, but it is still horrible for her to do that.
