Scrooge's Party Time
The Ghost of Christmas Present takes Scrooge to see his nephew, so he can view what Fred thinks about him. From this scene Scrooge feels ashamed for treating his nephew so poorly. In contrast Fred simply feels bad for Scrooge, he is just making his life worse for himself. I think that I would agree with Fred. It would not do me any harm to ask Scrooge to come to my party. I would still enjoy myself at the party and I would enjoy it more because Scrooge was not there to bring everyone down with his negative emotions. However, hearing about Scrooge, and how he was interacting with the games at Fred's party, even though no one could see him, would be a different side of Scrooge that no one has seen. Everyone sees Scrooge as a mean person, and everyone knows it, but the Scrooge at the party, was totally different. He was happy and interactive, he engaged in the party, and would guess in the games, and be right. Scrooge is way different when no one can see him and hear him, and he is different at parties.
This party, was probably one of Scrooge's first parties that he ever went to in his elderly life. However, it looked like Scrooge belonged at that party, because he was so engaging and interactive, that you would think he had been doing this his entire life. I never expected Scrooge to have a light and fluffy side to him, because he seems so intense and mean all the time, that it was hard to understand that he was engaging in games and having a good time at the party. Scrooge had such a fun time, that he keep on asking the Ghost of Christmas Present to let him have 30 more minutes, so he could play another game. At Fred's party, we saw a totally different side of Scrooge, and it seemed like he enjoyed being happy instead of being mean all the time. It is exhausting to be mean all day everyday to people, and that is why Scrooge enjoyed having a fun time at the party so much. He could stop acting like he hated everyone, because no one could see him. He was able to let loose and drop the attitude, and act like a different person around them, because Scrooge is so used to being mean to everyone, he was so thrilled to finally breaking his emotions, and be his old self, the one that would dance and participate in Fezziwig's parties. Scrooge would be treated differently, if he would always act like he was in a party all of the time.
