So Far In Stave Two

At the beginning of stave two, Scrooge had awaken from his sleep to see the clock's hands constantly move, it finally stopped at 12 a.m.. Scrooge was confused, because he had gone to sleep after 12 a.m., yet he had woken up at 12... Scrooge had remembered Marley tell him that the first ghost would visit him at 1 a.m., so he had waited until 1 had come. The ghost had come, it was the Ghost of Christmas Past. The ghost had told Scrooge it was Scrooge's past. The ghost had brought Scrooge to the past, going through his past. The ghost had shown Scrooge himself when he was small, he had been lonely when he was younger, Scrooge had no friends. The ghost had then shown Scrooge himself reading all alone, Ali Baba, and his old parrot. After Scrooge had regretted not giving something to a boy that had come to his house the other day who was singing a carol to him, instead he had shunned him and told him to stop/leave. Finally the ghost had showed Scrooge him a memory of him and his sister when they were younger. Scrooge had gotten emotional, because she is now dead, and he misses her. The ghost reminds Scrooge that she had a son before she had died, his name was Fred, Scrooge's nephew.
Already we start to see a side we haven't seen from Scrooge. He starts to regret the things he had done, like the boy who had tried to sing him a carol, he later wished that he had given something to the boy, after the ghost had come. Scrooge is starting to change, which is very good. SCrooge also cries later on in stave two, when he had seen a memory of him and his sister. It's good that Scrooge is already changing for the good, because the sooner the better. He finally is realizing that he has not done good in his life and he needs to change his ways, the ghosts so far already have affected him for the better.

  1. I like your take on the ghosts' missions and what they are doing to change Scrooge, Jorden. He is starting to regret the things he has done, which the ghost was sent to do in the first place. Also, he is starting to look like a victim of negligence in my eyes, and I saw extra evidence to support that when I read your post. I feel bad for Scrooge, and I bet others do too.

  2. I also think that we are seeing a side of scrooge that we haven't seen yet because he is having regret for what he did. I also think that scrooge is starting to change, but it is going to much more than regret to change him. When he cried it was sad because, his sister died.

  3. I think that it's good that Scrooge is changing to good and not bad because so far, I really don't like Scrooge because of that reason. So now he is realizing all the bad things he did like you said in you blog that Scrooge regrets that he ignore the kid. It's really good that he is now realizing these things, but I really do not like seeing Scrooge cry.

  4. I agree on your opinion on Scrooge changing. He is starting to regret what choices he has made and wants to do the good thing know. He needs the other ghosts, so he can actually turn into a good man and doing good things for people. Scrooge starts to realize that other people have had it rough like him, so he wants to help them for them to have a better life then he did. Good job on summarizing Stave Two and giving your opinion.
